Jimmer Fredette Scores 43 As No. 9 BYU Upends No. 4 San Diego State, 71-58

JImmer Fredette lived up to the hype as he casually scored 43 points in tonight's win over previously undefeated San Diego State, and this leaves Ohio State as the only undefeated team in college basketball.

Fredette was five-for-eight from three-point range -- 14-24 overall -- and at the end of the first half scored the final 15 points for BYU. Fredette's scoring streak kept BYU in the game through the end of the half. Besides making three-pointers, one which was almost another 30-footer, Fredette was able to beat any Aztez player off the dribble to score. ( Readmore... )

Jimmer Fredette Not San Diego State-BYU Game's Only Player To Watch

The most-hyped player in tonight’s San Diego State-BYU game, Jimmer Fredette (maybe you’ve heard of him?), comes in as hot as a Jimmer can be. He’s scored more than 40 points in two of his last three games, both road Mountain West events. He’s also gone for 30 or more in four of the last seven, and 25 or more in nine of the last 12. Caroline Wozniacki And Jimmer Fredette Make For A Good Evening

Last night I wasn’t sure what to watch. I knew the San Diego State-BYU game would be entertaining, but I wasn’t sure how long I’d be able to stick with it, plus it didn’t start until 10 p.m. here. Luckily, women’s tennis kept me interested for once.

Watching 20-year-old Danish sensation Caroline Wozniacki lose in the semifinals of the Australian Open kept me busy for a while. And no, it’s not because she’s easy on the eyes. Frankly, it’s because I couldn’t believe how short her dress was. If you can even call it a dress. ( Readmore... )
BYU's Jimmer Fredette puts on a one-man show at Moby Arena

Ram fans knew all about Jimmer Fredette. They knew he notched 47 points against Utah. They knew he was the number one scorer in the country. They knew BYU's national ranking of nine practically belonged to him. Yet, despite all of this, the Fort Collins faithful were undeterred.

The CSU Athletic Department announced that there were 3,000 student tickets available, and this wasn't a matter of picking them up at the box office and waiting until game time. Rather, a procession of students stretched down the walkway of Moby Arena and past the Corbett dorms on Plum Street. Oh, and it was 30 degrees not factoring the unrelenting wind. ( Readmore... )
In the biggest game of the year, BYU's Fredette shows he's for real

PROVO, Utah -- The chant started up with about a minute left in the game, gathering timbre as the entire Marriott Center crowd took it up: "You got Jimmered!"

A few minutes later, after No. 9 BYU had sealed a hard-fought 71-58 win over No. 4 San Diego State, knocking the Aztecs from the ranks of the undefeated, the frenzy intensified. Swarms of white-clad students rushed the floor. The crush of people and cameras trying to get close to BYU senior JImmer Fredette was so suffocating that officials hustled Fredette to a place behind press row so he could enjoy the mayhem from a safe remove. Suddenly, a police officer appeared at his side. ( Readmore... )
