The first official ‘Apollo 18′ trailer takes viewers back to the moon, using ‘real’ documented footage from the 1970s to explain why Apollo 18 was our last adventure there.

Outside of the intriguing and mysterious premise behind Apollo 18, we know very little about the film, nor have we seen anything from it. The idea of a secret Apollo mission to the moon, one kept secret for decades, was good enough to pique our interest, so much so, that we chose Apollo 18 as one of our most anticipated movies of 2011. Must Watch: Freaky Official Trailer for Sci-Fi Horror Film 'Apollo 18'

There's a reason we've never gone back to the moon... They've been counting down the debut of this trailer like the launch of a rocketship, which is almost too perfect for this. The Weinstein Company has debuted the official trailer on Apple for their found footage sci-fi film Apollo 18, starring some people we've never seen, directed by a guy we've never heard of. This project was quietly announced late last year. It looks creepy as hell for a vintage found-footage sci-fi horror movie. I'm admittedly freaked out by aliens and this is crazy, I am shaking. I want to see this, but I'm nervous about how insanely scary it might be to watch. Be careful! ( Read Apollo 18 more... )

'Apollo 18' Trailer Lands on the Web

Why have we never gone back to the moon? Personally, I think it's to prevent another Tom Hanks Oscar nomination and the acceptance speech that could result. But hey, the folks behind Apollo 18 seem to believe it's because something sinister lurks in those peaceful-looking dunes and craters. More after the jump. ( Read Apollo 18 more... )
