Teaching your greyhound to sit

How to teach your greyhound to sit aka an lazy way to have your dog approximate a sit.

Now I want to be upfront about this, if your thinking of competition with your dog such as obedience or rally this isn’t for you. Also there are other ways to teach a greyhound to sit, check out this one from Never say Never Greyhounds. Personally, I can’t ever seem to lure anything (good thing I’m not a professional dog trainer). Greyhound abuse defendant ready for plea bargain

CHIPLEY — Though Ronnie Williams told a judge Thursday afternoon he is eager to put his legal trouble behind him, his pre-trial hearing was postponed until April 7.

Williams, who has been charged with 42 counts of felony animal cruelty in connection with the deaths of 37 greyhounds in the kennel at Ebro Greyhound Park and the neglect of five survivors, told a judge at the Washington County Courthouse on Thursday he was interested in a plea bargain so he could go home to his 2-year-old and help his ailing parents. Greyhounds get new leash of life thanks to West Cumbrian charity

A Workington charity has found new homes for more than 700 retired greyhounds in 10 years.

Tom Edgar, 56, runs the Workington branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust, a national charity that is appealing for more people to come forward to take one of the 1,000 dogs it has on its books.

Mr Edgar began working with the trust about 10 years ago.

He runs the branch from his Northside Road home and said they had found homes for about 50 dogs in the last 12 months.

Mr Edgar, also a professional greyhound trainer, said this was down to a partnership that he had formed with the other Cumbrian branch of the trust, near Ulverston, and by taking time to match people up with the right dogs. ( Read Greyhound more... )

Greyhound Passengers Stranded In St. Louis Due To Weather

Some travelers heading for Oklahoma decided to leave the driving to Greyhound and that's left them stuck in St. Louis.

Ice and snow between Missouri and Oklahoma has been stranding bus passengers in St. Louis some since Monday and they are not happy about it. They claim they are being kept in the dark about when they'll get to leave and that Greyhound is treating them poorly. ( Read Greyhound more... )
