Krispy Kreme Challenge

The Krispy Kreme challenge will be “run” this weekend. Only in the South would you have a running event named after a fried and glazed dessert. Albeit, one mighty fine tasty dessert.

Krispy Kreme Challenge: Doughnuts And Running A Good Combination? (Video)

Have you heard about the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, N.C.? Basically the Krispy Kreme challenge is a race that 7500 people have decided to take on, which consists of eating a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and then running two miles immediately after. Krispy Kreme doughnuts have celebrity fans as well. Jimmy Buffett even franchised the chain in Florida so he could get his doughnut fix!

What do you think…would you be up for the Krispy Kreme Challenge? ( Read Krispy Kreme Challenge more... )

Krispy Kreme Challenge

Krispy Kreme Challenge, (AP) – On your marks, get set, stuff yourself. About 7,500 people are expected to attend Saturday annual Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh. The rules are simple and stomach-churning: a period of two miles, eat a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, then run back on the same two miles.

That’s four mile run to burn about 2,400 calories.

It’s for a good cause, though. Students from North Carolina State University operate the race, and it raises money for the Hospital of North Carolina children. Last year, the event attracted more than $ 55,000. ( Read Krispy Kreme Challenge more... )
