Jane Lynch will be hosting this year’s Primetime Emmys. She is replacing Jimmy Falon. Jane Lynch stars in Glee and is an Emmy-winning actress.”We’re delighted to have Jane Lynch host the Primetime Emmys this year,” said John Shaffner, chairman and CEO, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. “When out host has comedic, dramatic, and musical talents – as Jane has proved in last year’s opening number, we know its going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!”
Jane was my first and only choice as the host for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said yes,” said first time Emmy’s producer Mark Burnett. “She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.”
Jane Lynch is the third woman to host the Emmys alone. Angela Lansbury hosted the Emmys in 1993 and Ellen DeGeneres in 2005. Emmy nominations will be announced at 5:40 a.m. PT on Thursday, July 14. This year’s telecast airs Sunday, September 18 on Fox from LA Live’s Nokia theater in Los Angeles.
I think the Emmys can be exciting with glamorous people. It is television honoring its most talented people.
