Brian Oliver, who has missed the past seven games, is scheduled to return for the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday, according to Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt.
Oliver, a sophomore, suffered a small fracture in the base of the thumb on his non-shooting hand in the loss against Clemson on Feb. 5. Doctors removed the pins from his hand Friday morning. The Yellow Jackets will host Miami on Sunday in the last game at Alexander Memorial Coliseum. The building will be torn down and replaced by the $45-million McCamish Pavilion.
Oliver, who started 12 games, is averaging 10.9 points and 4.5 rebounds this season. After hitting 38 percent of his 3-pointers last season Oliver has struggled this year, hitting 29.5 percent of his 3-pointers and 36.8 percent of his shots overall.
