OPM Disability Retirement: Burden of Proof

In preparing, formulating and filing a Federal Disability Retirement application under FERS & CSRS, one is often asked (and should also ask of one’s self) the following question: What does it take to be eligible? What proof proves my case? How much proof must I submit (quantity) and is the proof I submit sufficient (quality)? OPM, Federal government in the Washington area might want to prepare for telework on Thursday. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch, which says that the snow could reach the capital, from the afternoon on Wednesday night, and we could see at least five inches falling when all is said and done.

We will not know until early Thursday if the snow is enough to throw a wrench into the operations of government. So it would not hurt the federal government that telework can bring their laptops or home Wednesday evening a few files just in case the Office of Personnel Management says leave unexpected / unscheduled telework days. OPM moves into the next phase of hiring reform

The Office of Personnel Management is preparing to take the next step in hiring reform. Angela Bailey, the deputy associate director for recruitment and hiring, said her office is developing new metrics to help agencies with the recruiting and assessments of potential new employees.

"We are going to roll out state-of-the-art tools to help agencies with their recruiting and attracting top talent," said Bailey in an interview with Federal News Radio.

Last May, President Obama issued an Executive Order aimed at streamlining the hiring process and to improve the recruiting of top talent. The mandate, Improving the Federal Recruitment and Hiring Process, was the first phase of the administration's comprehensive initiative to address major, long-standing impediments to recruiting and hiring.
