2011 Pro Bowl: Players Happy To Be Back In Hawaii
The 2011 Pro Bowl kicks of this evening at 7pm on FOX and also makes its return to Hawaii. The Aloha state had long been the home of the pro bowl, but last year when the NFL decided to move the game to the week before the Superbowl as opposed to the week after, and the game was played in Miami.
After last year's pro bowl was the highest rated of all time, they've decided to keep it the week before the Superbowl, but have moved the game back to Honolulu. ( Read PROBOWL more... )
2011 NFL Pro Bowl: 49ers Pro Bowlers for 2012
The sure to be riveting 2011 NFL Pro Bowl kicks off later today at 4:00pm pacific on FOX. The 49ers are represented by defensive end Justin Smith and inside linebacker Patrick Willis. While Bamm Bamm won't be playing today due to injury, Justin Smith will be starting in his second straight Pro Bowl appearance. Last season Smith was an alternate and made the roster after Kevin Williams was forced to miss the game due to injury.
This year, Smith was selected as a starter from the get-go. It's pretty impressive considering before last year he'd never been selected for a Pro Bowl in his NFL career.

After last year's loss, in which an injured Steven Jackson did not participate, the 2011 Pro Bowl is a chance for the NFC All-Stars to win their third in four years against the AFC All-Stars.

Sunday is chock-full of sports this week, with the 2011 Pro Bowl and the Apple Cup of basketball highlighting the action. Though the Seattle Seahawks are conspicuously absent from the Pro Bowl, there's still plenty of stars to pique your interest, should you choose to tune-in this afternoon.

The 2011 Super Bowl will be played next Sunday but the 2011 Pro Bowl is scheduled for today.
In case you've been living under a rock the 2011 Super Bowl is scheduled for next weekend as the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet. The NFL takes two weeks off between the conference playoffs and the championship game which allows the media to hype things up and it gives wounded players a chance to recover.
