Oakland Housing Authority is accepting applications for Section 8 housing. Section 8 is an excellent program that subsidizes housing for those accepted. Our CARE staff spend much time next week with clients interested in working on their applications. Oakland Housing Authority (OHA) and the Oakland Public Library are working together to provide access to IT support and application of very low-income families, elderly and disabled people who are interested in the application of the United States. Oakland Section 8 wait-list opens for five days beginning Jan. 25

In Oakland, as in many cities, more people are in need of help paying rent than there is money to go around. The need hasn't decreased, which is why the Oakland Housing Authority is expecting as many as 100,000 people to ask for Section 8 vouchers when the agency begins taking applications later this month.
