A long break that followed the jailbreaking scene has come to a hault now. iHacker Extraordinare GeoHot is making a dramatic return with a complete new bootroom exploit and tool to own all latest iOS devices on iOS 4.1. GeoHot alias George Hotz, the “Father of Jailbreak” will officially announce Limera1n on October 11, this year. Limera1n is a tool to unlock all devices running iOS 4.1, including iPhone 4 and 3GS, iPad and the new iPod Touch.
The arrival of Limera1n will see the anniversary of Blackra1n jailbreak that came on the same day. Limera1n will be released at http://limera1n.com website.
The news of the coming up of Limera1n was confirmed by Chronic Dev Team on Twitter. In return GeoHotz confirmed the news of his comeback with a complete set of new tool. Chronic Dev Team is not much pleased with it, as they want GeoHotz to save his new bootroom for the next-gen iPad2 and iPhone 5 devices.
GeoHotz accredited for the first iPhone jailbreak has closed his twitter account now. He has chosen to remain low profile. Yet his urge to release jailbreaks for iOS gadgets has been same as earlier. The jailbreaks and new Limera1n will be operational with all iOS devices: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 2G (with new bootrom), iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G and iPad.The pictures of Limera1n jailbreak applied iOS devices like iPad, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPhone 3GS has already been posted by GeoHotz.
Limera1n jailbreak is based on a low-level bootroom exploit. It is different than Shatter Exploit and GreenPois0n.
MuscleNerd, an iPhone Dev Team member noted that Limera1n jailbreak might contribute in shutting down of Apple’s two low-level bootroom exploits with next update. Apple has already applied the same by fixing 24 kpwn bootroom exploit iPhone 3GS.
