Ironman Kona Hawaii 2010 – Virginia Berasategui run tonight for the sixth time in the Hawaii Ironman.
Despite all odds point to Britain’s Chrissie Wellington as a favorite American, Berasategui arrives on the island “full of energy” and confident that the drawer is a laudable goal, but achievable.
The Basque athlete attends the event “no pressure” and a good time. “I come with the homework done, I have trained at a good level and have achieved all the goals of the season,” he says.
Berasategui has starred in a difficult season. It remade its two injuries while training, one in Mallorca and one in Germany. In fact, he proclaimed victory in Cologne and European champions as well as make the podium in Abu Dhabi, Wildflower and the World Championship.
The Bilbao is aware that crown in Hawaii is very difficult, especially if you have an opponent as Wellington. “It must be a horrible day to defeat it, and I am in perfect condition” he admits.
Another athlete that threaten the goal of Virginia’s Julie Dibens. The UK has shown great form throughout this season, allowing him to win in March at the Abu Dhabi Triathlon.
Australia’s Mirinda Carfrae, second in the Ironman in 2009, notable for its terms to run on foot. This year, however, its best was the third in the Tri Zarautz.
Caroline Steffen, Swiss cyclist Cervelo team, has been world champion long distance in Germany, and their cycling skills make her a hard team to beat in that mode.
