Call of Duty: Black Ops, Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer

Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer shows us how to Wager ( Black Ops Multiplayer Reveal )

During yesterday’s “Multiplayer Reveal“, Treyarch has detailed, for the first time, the multiplayer side of their upcoming entry in the Call of Duty franchise, and even showed to those attending a Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer.

During the press event, Treyarch has talked about what’s new and improved in the Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer:

First, there is a mode called Combat Training specially designed for those who don’t play online. In Combat Training players will square off against bots. This mode will also have a progression system, different from the online mode.

Care Packages will contain new weapons including the Death Machine (a mini-gun) and the Grim Reaper (a grenade launcher).

Kill-streak rewards will include: Mortar Team, Napalm Strike, the Radio Controlled Car, Gunship and SAM Turret.

Call of Duty: Black Ops will also have a new currency system, based on COD Points. The points are earned as you play and can be spent on contracts or gambled in Call of Duty: Black Ops Wager matches. The contracts are, in fact, specialized challenges splitted up in categories like Mercenaries, Operations and Specialist. We can expect each challenge category to have a particular type of gameplay and achievements. Of course there will be a bigger reward for more difficult contracts.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Wager Matches are 4 brand new free-for-all based game-modes that are separate from normal online progression. In the Wager matches players can take their hard earned Currency Points (CP) and gamble it against other players. The thing players will gamble on is that they’ll be in the Top 3 when the match is over. So basically, at the end of a game, only the Top 3 players will cash in on the bet while everyone else losses their wager.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Wager game modes are :

  • One in the Chamber – Every players spawns with a pistol, one bullet and three lives. If you kill another player you get to take their bullet. If you fire and miss, you’ll only have the melee attack at your disposal.
  • Sticks and Stones – In this game-mode the players are equipped with a Crossbow, a Ballistic Knife and a Tomahawk. If you kill another player with the Tomahawk, you’ll bankrupt that player.
  • Gun Game – This Wager game-mode will hand players a progressive series of weapons, based on kills. You start up with a pistol and, with every kill, you progress to the next weapon. The player that gets to the last weapon will win the game but, if somehow you get knifed you’ll be set back one tier.
  • Sharp Shooter – In this 4th Wager mode every player will start with the same randomly selected weapon. After a fixed amount of time everyone will be switched to another randomly selected weapon. In Sharp Shooter, with each kill you’ll earn a perk and eventually a scoring multiplier.

Another aspect on which Treyarch touched during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Reveal event is the customization. Everything can be customized, from the Player Emblems (via the Emblem Editor) through the weapon’s color, decals and the targeting reticule. It’s Create-a-Class 2.0 at its best.

Interestingly, nothing has come up about the Call of Duty: Black Ops Beta that many thought it will be released today. I guess those Call of Duty: Black Ops Beta Ads were NOT official after all.
