Vince Papale is a Soul season ticket owner

Philadelphia's own folk hero, Vince Papale, is a season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Soul and he is excited about the return of the indoor game to Philadelphia. The cute love story in Private Parts ended in divorce. The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things turned out to be about someone who wasn't real. It turns out that all Jews aren't responsible for killing Jesus in The Passion Of The Christ. You know, that type of thing. ( Read Vince Papale more... )

Vince Papale was the Guest Speaker at the recent Global Traveler Awards event. Papale was the NFL's oldest (non-kicker) rookie and the subject of the movie Invincible, which starred Mark Wahlberg.

Papale never played football in college, but was a great athlete. In his late 20's, he tried out and made the Philadelphia Bell of the now-defunct World Football League. After about a year and a half, shortly after the WFL folded, Papale got a tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles and made the team. He became a special teams standout and played for 3 seasons. Greatest Football Movie Ever Tournament: Invincible vs Paper Lion

Well, we're on to the last of our first round match-ups in the Professional bracket, and our last match-up gave us what can definitely be termed an upset, as the young upstarts. . .The Replacements. . .knocked off the old standby, North Dallas Forty. I thought the old timers would get through to the next round, but hey. . .I guess I can't argue with the mad acting skills of Keanu Reeves and an I Will Survive choreography number.
