'The Bad Seed': 'Pretty Little Liars' puts on a show

It's school play time in Rosewood!

"Pretty Little Liars" is putting a show -- a school play to be exact and they are adapting the classic novel "The Bad Seed" for the high school auditorium stage in Monday, Feb. 21's episode, "The Bad Seed."

"The Bad Seed," written in 1954 by William March, is about eight-year-old Rhoda, who is an only child. Her mother, Christine, believes she may just have a bad seed on her hands when one of Rhoda's classmates mysteriously drowns and discovers her daughter did it. ( Read The Bad Seed more... )

On Monday, February 21, Pretty Little Liars airs episode 18, titled The Bad Seed, which comes from the name of Rosewood High's school production of the play, The Bad Seed. Judging from what's I've heard about tonight's episode, the title could also easily apply to a number of Rosewood residents.

We quickly discovered that the play is about an 8-year-old sociopath who kills to get whatever she wants. The girl, Rhoda, murdered her classmate for beating her in a contest and winning a medal. Rhoda goes on a killing spree and that’s why she’s called the bad seed. The little liars are auditioning for the same play in the next episode and we’re guessing it will provide more clues about Rosewood’s bad seed.

New Album From Former Bad Seed Mick Harvey

Over a year after he parted company with long-term musical partner Nick Cave, former Bad Seed Mick Harvey has announced details of his first solo album in four years, due out this April.

The new LP is entitled Sketches From The Book Of Dead and will be released on April 29 via Mute/EMI. The album was recorded in Melbourne with all 11 tracks written by Harvey himself. Backing him up are Rosie Westbrook, JP Shilo and Xanthe Waite. ( Read The Bad Seed more... )

A school play will take on a major role, as Aria attempts to use it to get closer to Ezra; while Hanna actually tries out for a role. What will come out of each development? Tune in. Find out.
