The Volkswagen Lavida
is a compact car released by Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive for the Chinese market.

The Lavida, manufactured by Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive, is based on Volkswagen Group PQ34 platform and components which is shared with the Golf Mk4.

The new sedan developed by Shanghai Volkswagen was debuted at Auto China 2008 in Beijing, with two engine options a 1.6L and a 2.0L.

Shanghai-Volkswagen has introduced Lavida 1.4 TSI at Auto Shanghai 2009, which shares engine with FAW-VW Sagitar TSI. Also CSVW has showed a Bluemotion Concept Version of Lavida, but there is no plan to produce this car.

In 2010 Shanghai-VW unveils e-Lavida concept car at Auto China 2010, which is a part of VW's worldwide EV strategy.

Engines

The Lavida has three engine options, 1.4L Turbo, 1.6L and 2.0L Petrol engine. The 1.6L engine also powers Polo Mk4 sedan, the 2.0L engine powers Volkswagen Passat. The 1.4TSI shares with VW Sagitar, VW Magotan, VW Golf Mk6, VW Bora
