Penn State Wrestling Downed by Iowa
No. 1 ranked Penn State hosted #8 Iowa in a highly anticipiated wrestling match, but could not pull out the win in front of a sold out crowd at Rec Hall. College Event : Iowa vs. Penn State
The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team (13-0, 2-0 Big Ten) will carry a No. 1 national ranking into its home dual against No. 8 Iowa (9-0-1, 2-0 Big Ten*) on Sunday, Jan. 30. Penn State is 13-0 on the year and off to the best start in school history. The three-time defending national champions will ride a 71-dual unbeaten streak into the weekend’s action. The match will air on the Big Ten Network in a same day tape delay at 9:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.
With over 6,500 tickets already distributed, the Nittany Lions will entertain the Hawkeyes in front of the largest Rec Hall crowd since the renovation/reseating of 2005. Penn State is coming off a 2-0 weekend that saw them down No. 22 Pittsburgh in front of over 5,500 fans on Friday and then post a convincing 36-8 road win at Indiana on Sunday. The Nittany Lions won 16 of 20 bouts in the two duals, led by junior heavyweight Cameron Wade. Wade downed two ranked grapplers and was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week for his efforts. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – After defeating Pitt and Indiana, the top-ranked Nittany Lion wrestling team (13-0) returns home on Sunday for a clash with No. 8 Iowa (9-0-1) in front of a sold out Rec Hall crowd.

Penn State Welcomes Iowa to Rec Hall Whiteout
The now top ranked Penn State wrestling team will welcome the returning NCAA champion hawkeyes to Rec Hall on Sunday. Anticipation for this match has been at a fever pitch since December, with tickets selling out for the match over a month before the dual. Additional standing room only tickets sold out in under an hour.
Needless to say it should be a very exciting atmosphere for this dual. A white out has also been declared a first for the wrestling team. ( Read Penn State Wrestling more... )

(University Park) - The Penn State wrestling team is off to its best start in school history at 13-0, and now they are the top team in the nation.
