Mitch Mustain Arrested: Former USC QB Booked For Reportedly Selling Prescription Drugs Online

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police say former Southern California backup quarterback Mitch Mustain has been arrested on suspicion of selling prescription drugs.

LAPD spokesman Bruce Borihanh says the 22-year-old Mustain was arrested Tuesday night by narcotics officers in the San Fernando Valley.

Reports: Ex-USC quarterback Mitch Mustain arrested

Quarterback Mitch Mustain, whose football eligiblity at Southern California expired with the end of the 2010 season, was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of selling prescription drugs. The charge is a felony. The Associated Press cited Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Bruce Borihanh as confirming the arrest Wednesday.

Fans of college football know the name former USC quarterback Mitch Mustain, but not for playing college football. No, he became famous on National Signing Day, when he committed to the University of Arkansas as the number one quarterback in America, and according to some, the overall player of the year.

And... Well, five years and one transfer later, he's still famous for once being the number one high school quarterback in America. His greatest legacy is probably bringing his high school coach, Gus Malzahn, to the NCAA. USC football: Mitch Mustain arrested on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics

Former USC quarterback Mitch Mustain is free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics, police said Wednesday.

Mustain, 22, was arrested Tuesday at 8:10 p.m. and was booked on the felony charge at the West Valley-area station, according to Los Angeles Police Department officials. Mustain was released after posting $30,000 bail.

The arrest came as the result of a sting operation, but police did not elaborate on details of the case.
