LSU Football Recruiting: Les Miles Reels In Another Showpiece Class For 2011

The Georgia transfer via Kansas JUCO has a good chance to unseat Jordan Jefferson, who went two months last fall without throwing a TD and ended up as one of the least efficient passers in the SEC. Those two stats obviously correlate but the kid did beat Alabama, which always accrues some good will in Cajun country, a place Nick Saban temporarily officed. However, if consistency is the goal and Mettenberger can steer the ship, he'll get a chance. He deserves a shot based on his Geico caveman wig alone. ( Read Rivals Football Recruiting more... )

Minnesota Gophers Football Recruiting: A Quick Look Back

Today would be the calm before the proverbial storm that is tomorrow's National Signing Day. Hopefully Coach Kill can close with a few more solid commitments, and then we can focus on where these kids fit into the Gophs' present and future.

To "Kill" some time between now and then, I thought we'd take a look back at past Gopher recruiting classes. Specifically, look at the "star" rankings according to Rivals (I'm not saying Rivals is the best or worst, it's just who I went with) and what some of our best players were ranked. Rivals database for us non-paying folks only goes back to 2002, so let's start there... ( Read Rivals Football Recruiting more... )

National Signing Day: Rivals Weighs In On KU Recruiting Class

The marks are high for the first recruiting class under Turner Gill, which bodes well for the future of Jayhawks football. Specifically, the running game should look nice with Darrian Miller in the backfield — the four-star recruit committed a few months ago and should provide an immediate offensive spark.

Overall, Rivals likes some late additions on both sides of the ball and the ability to grab two four-star recruits: ( Read Rivals Football Recruiting more... )

Rivals Football Recruiting

Rivals Football Recruiting, Ten Badgers, Big co-champions and Rose Bowl participants for the 2010 season are excellent examples of teams that are almost always better when the games are played when the recruiting services are the classification categories of the day signature.

“This is a racing game,” said Allen Wallace, publisher of longtime Superprep magazine and editor of Scout.com national recruiting. “Even if I’m in the area of recruitment, it is always about coaching to your system and player development. This program does not recruit athletes in general so high that other programs get, but almost always has a good team.“ ( Read Rivals Football Recruiting more... )
