Daniel Tosh
This weekend: ‘60 Minutes,’ ‘Daniel Tosh: Happy Thoughts,’ NAACP Image Awards — all have Central Florida connections

Central Florida is going to make a splash on national television this weekend. Trust me.

Here’s how:

1. People will be talking about the Scott Pelley report that leads off “60 Minutes.” Pelley wanted to do a story about how children are suffering through the Great Recession. He told me he decided on Orlando because it is home to “the happiest place on Earth” and because Central Florida is one of the most challenged places in the country. The decision paid off because “60 Minutes” has found some thoughtful children to tell this heartbreaking story. (I’ll have an interview with Pelley over the weekend.) This is one of those reports that earns the overused term “must see.” CBS’ “60 Minutes” airs at 7 p.m. Sunday. ( Read Daniel Tosh more... )

Daniel Tosh Performs Live at Detroit's Fox Theatre Tonight

Stand-up comedian and the star of Comedy Central's Tosh.0, Daniel Tosh will perform at Detroit's Fox Theatre on Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Tosh's sardonic material and the casual way it's delivered has made him a college favorite, averaging 100 college campus performances a year. He made his first appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2001 and a year later was hosting his first standup special, Comedy Central Presents Daniel Tosh. In 2005, the cable network's record label released his debut, the CD/DVD combo True Stories I Made Up. ( Read Daniel Tosh more... )

Contest: Win the new Daniel Tosh CD, Happy Thoughts

On Sunday, March 6, comedian Daniel Tosh's stand-up special will air on Comedy Central. That's the same stand-up act that he's releasing on CD called Happy Thoughts on March 8. Here's a preview of this not-really-safe-for-work-unless-you-have-headphones-and-a-cool-boss video: ( Read Daniel Tosh more... )
