TWU student who allegedly made threat detained
DENTON, Texas (AP) - A student at a North Texas university has
been caught after he allegedly made a threat in class that prompted
a school lockdown.
Nobody has been harmed at Texas Woman's University in Denton.
TWU shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday advised students and staff to remain inside during the search for the man, who left class after making the unspecified threat. ( Read TWU more... )
TWU volleyball: Silver for Spartans after five-set heartbreaker
A runner-up finish at the Canada West championships has earned the Trinity Western Spartans the second seed at the national championships.
The Spartans women’s volleyball fell 3-2 (25-22,21-25,18-25,25-21,17-15) to the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday at War Memorial Gymnasium.
Trinity Western was up 2-1 and leading in both the fourth and fifth sets before UBC rallied.
Kara Jansen Van Doorn led the way with 16 kills, while Nicole Bazin led an impressive blocking effort, picking up seven block assists on the Spartans’ 11 team blocks. ( Read TWU more... )

TWU lockdown lifted after student taken into custody
DENTON - A lockdown at the Texas Woman's University campus has been lifted after a student who allegedly made a violent threat has been taken into custody at a hospital in Dallas, Denton police said.
In a statement placed on their Web site, the university said the lockdown went into effect at 9:40 a.m. after a male student made a threat of violence while in class. After he left the room, the teacher dismissed the class and called authorities. ( Read TWU more... )
