Einink Sisters Lead Way In Chautauqua Lake Win

MAYVILLE -Jenna and Jill Einink combined for 30 points to neutralize the 28 points scored by Kristin Biela of Chautauqua Lake (7-2, 9-5) won its important Division 3 girls basketball battle with Franklinville (5-3, 9-4) on Monday night.

Jenna Einink scored 20 points and her sister, Jill Einink, added 10, grabbed nine rebounds and had seven assists as the hosts defeated Franklinville, 52-44.

''It was a nice win for us since they beat us by a 50-46 score down at their place,'' said CL coach Eric Schuster. ( Read Chautauqua more... )

Chautauqua County bicentennial celebration Feb. 9

MAYVILLE - On Feb. 9, Chautauqua County will kick off its bicentennial year with a celebration at Chautauqua Suites Conference Center in Mayville. The 7 p.m. celebration is free and open to the public.

"Two hundred years ago, on February 9, 1811, Chautauqua County was officially established by an act of the New York State Legislature. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

SHERIDAN - Valerie J. simmons, 46, of Sheridan was charged Jan. 29 with driving while intoxicated and speeding after her vehicle was reportedly stopped on Route 20. She was issued traffic tickets and scheduled to appear in Sheridan Town Court. ( Read Chautauqua more... )
