Body of Italian TV host Mike Bongiorno 'stolen'
The coffin of Mike Bongiorno, well-known quiz show host, who died in 2009, was stolen two nights ago from the cemetery of Dagnete, a fraction of Arona, near Novara, Italy. The alarm was given by a man who noticed that Bongiorno’s tomb was open.
A ransom still has not been demanded. A couple of years ago in the same area the corpse of an Italian businessman, Enrico Cuccia, was also stolen. ( Read Mike Bongiorno more... )

Body of Italian TV host Mike Bongiorno 'stolen'
Police are looking for the body of an Italian TV host after his tomb was found broken into and his coffin missing, they said.
Mike Bongiorno had been a well-known quiz show host for more than 50 years, and a close friend of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
According to Italian media, a man who was visiting a different grave at the cemetery noticed that Bongiourno's tomb was open and alerted police. ( Read Mike Bongiorno more... )

Theft at Dagnente, a small district of Arona. Family “aghast and incredulous”
MILAN – The body of Mike Bongiorno was stolen in the night from the cemetery at Dagnente, a small district of the municipality of Arona, in the province of Novara. The thief or thieves broke the plaque sealing the tomb to steal the mortal remains of the much-loved television presenter, who died on 8 September 2009.
“We are aghast and incredulous” was the immediate reaction of Michele Bongiorno Junior, the star’s eldest son. Mr Bongiorno Junior added: “There are no words to describe this. It happened during the night and we were told an hour ago. Now it’s in the hands of the police. We are truly speechless”. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the theft nor has the family received demands for money to return the coffin. ( Read Mike Bongiorno more... )
